The exhibition Home is where your heart is is a group exhibition with artists Ditte Marie Frost Clausen, Helle Kongstad Holm Petersen, Johan Severin, Marie Louise Westring Hvidman, Mikkel Carlsen, Mikkel Kaldal, Nina Møller, Olga Szymula, Rikke Helbo, Signe Cygan and Sophie-Luise Passow.
Home is where your heart is is a festival created by nine artist run exhibition venues, which collectively call themselves Artist Run Aarhus, together with Aarhus Visual Arts Center.
From August to September 2026, the festival will explore what “home” can mean and become when examined through social, site-specific and participatory visual art formats. Each venue participates based on its own practice and profile, showcasing the breadth of Aarhus’ artist run scene: from exhibitions and events to performances, workshops, talks, walks and communal gatherings across the city.
Over the weekend of 28-30 August, the festival culminates during the first weekend of Aarhus Festuge, when (almost) all venues open their doors with events that can be experienced individually or as a unified journey through the city’s artist run landscape. On Friday 28 August, from 16:00 to 20:00, Artist Run Aarhus invites you to ART WALK, which begins at rum46 and continues on to HVERK, HUS8000, ÆSKEN, Cantina, before returning to HVERK. The evening will conclude there with a festive get-together from 20:00 to midnight. On Sunday, 30 August, from 13:00 to 17:30, the route will be repeated in a new version, where you can once again experience exhibitions, events and encounters across the city as we walk together. Here we start at 13:00 at Aarhus Visual Center, KH7 Artspace, Huggeormen, Cantina, HUS8000, ÆSKEN, rum46 and HVERK.
At Cantina there will be a collective exhibition by members of Corporum curated by Mikkel Carlsen who will introduce the exhibition at the opening.
